I always love Imogen Church & honestly MANY book I do get are because SHE is the narrator & more times than not I end up enjoying the story. (No spoiler for you here, so don\’t worry) I will let you find out for yourself. Another \”Murder Mystery\” that had figured out by the time Ava\’s phone was pinged, yes, believe it or not. The content \”Snoop\” introductions for each character got EXTREMELY ANNOYING & very redundant. The characters were pretty much the same in one way or another & boring and WAY OVER developed & just to many to yet hold my interest. The whole thing was very long winded & I did try to love it….it failed me though. It didn\’t even catch my interest even a little, until chapter 18 & then…it just was still very very slow and tedious. Even more excited after I found Imogen was the narrator too! 5 stars for Imogen, 2 stars for story Sadly, I was greatly disappointed with this story. I was so excited for a new book by Ruth & I loved many of her books. Especially if she continues to pair with Imogen Church. I don\’t want to give anything away, and although in my opinion it does seem as if the plot follows the same basic formula as her previous works, Ware is a talented writer who always provides enough intrigue to keep me coming back. It\’s always harder to satisfy readers in audio format, anyway, because success no longer relies solely on the author\’s prose, but on the combination of written word and performance. The flow is so natural it\’s as if you\’re listening to someone else\’s conversations firsthand.

Her pacing is spot on and she definitely has a talent for emphasizing in all the right places. If you\’ve ever read or listened to Ware before, you\’ll know that her stories are often filled with inner dialogue, which, in my eyes, happens to be one of Churches biggest strengths. She is a perfect match for the author\’s style of writing. I\’ve listened to three or four other Ruth Ware titles and feel that Church does a phenomenal job.

Although another reviewer rated 2 stars because of the narration, I think Imogen Church is one of the best female narrators out there, so I guess it really does boil down to personal preference.
